What's in a name ?

The name "MUTIMEX" is derived from "MUTsaerts IMport EXport" and was revived from dormancy in 1990 by Wim JF Mutsaerts.

The name then metamorphosised into "MUTi-mex", as we often get asked if we sell "Muti" (medizine) for the local Zulu witch-doctors, who are known as "Sangoma" (a Zulu medicine man). So here we are, the MUTi-men from MUTi-mex with the MUTi for the Textile Industry !

History

MUTIMEX is based near Durban, where we store selected accessories & spare parts. Starting as an indent agent for a few overseas manufacturers, Wim Mutsaerts was able to supply local factories with the required items directly from Overseas Principals. The demand for certain products to be delivered immediately, initiated Wim Mutsaerts to import in bulk from overseas Suppliers and distribute these products to the Textile factories, from stock held locally. Just-In-Time (JIT) service has become vitally important to factories, as international pressure increases. We face the challenges as swiftly as a Spanish Matador, NOT facing the challenge of a raging Bull head-on, but rather being gracefully Tactful. Less of a headache !

Objective

To be a 'supportive arm', 'listening ears' and 'service orientated' extension to the southern African Textile factories, in the challenge to be internationally competitive.

Company Credo

"Ambitious Suppliers to the Textile Industry"
